MOMents w/ D
These days she comes to eat lunch with me at work. Though she carries her lunch box to school, I demanded that she comes to the office for lunch. That is the decision after I heard reports that she is late in coming to class in the afternoon because she tags along her girlfriends off to the internet bar. I was a bit angry when I heard that but really did not scold her. I just told her that if she can’t be controlled then i will send her away to a school up in the mountains that has no electricity.
On her 2nd day with me at the office, she asked me if she can play online. I agreed. No problem at least i can see what sites she will be into. Myyy i saw her playing games that i can just see at the internet bars. Games that elementary student play. So i gently told her that playing that or being hooked to that would have a bad effect on her grade. Anyway, before she left, she told me, “mom, do you like to play? continue playing that!” I told her, “nope i dunno how to play that. She gave me a simple demontration but then I didn’t play. I just don’t like to get hooked because i know at times i have free time at work and i will end up playing online games.
Id rather spend it in chatting. LOL!
Anyway, i think kids needs more guidance these days as they have more distractions than in our time. I guess teachers before are stricter than the teachers now. But i will just cross my fingers that somehow, my girl will grow up to be a responsible student and daughter.

I have a brother who actually quit school (more like dropped out of school) because of online games. The net is a scary playgroud for unguided kids. Take care!
