Tuesday AM Topic – Meaning of Life – I
1. Life is a Journey
Life is a journey. The road is sometimes bumpy, smooth, goes up, and goes down. There are wide roads, narrow roads, straights ones and also the crooken ones. We may encounter hardship along the way but at the same time, there is excitement and adventure.
2. Life is School
As we live this life, there is always learning. No matter how much we dislike the teacher or the lesson but if we give a 100% full attention to them, we learn something – and that something will help us in a way as we go long life’s journey.
3. Life is a Gift
To receive a gift is an exciting thing. When we receive a gift we treasure it. A gift is not a gift when we cannot think of the giver. And a true gift giving is when we cannot give back that gift. The Lord gave us a gift that we can’t give HIm back in return and that is Life.
Tuesday PM – Meaning of Life – II
I am suppose to update this post right after the session yesterday but was caught upwith work so i forgot some of the important points.
The message was started with this question — How did you know that God wanted you to be a ….(the course you are taking now)? Contemplating on the question and the illustration given (speaker’s experience) i too experienced a leading to the course that i took in college.
Some more points i can’t forget are the following:
“In every war, famine, plague, and deathbed is a monument of unanswered prayers.”
“If you’re prayers are unanswered then it means that God has better and greater plans for you.”
“Don’t pray for an easy life because life is never easy. But pray for a strong character to brace all the hardship in life.”
Wednesday AM – Detour
Detours are sort of normal part of our jouney in life. They are in the form of feeling lost, unexpected roadblocks or unexpected turn of events. In my own understanding – detours are sometimes good (will wake us up to realize that we are going the wrong way) and others say most of the time bad (going the right way but pressures and unexpected turn of events made them go on a detour)
The way we react to detours in life determines if we turn our dreams or plans into nightmares, … or have the tenacity to go on.
3 ways to respond to unexpected problems:
1. Keep your dreams alive.
2. Don’t allow the detours of life to hinder you in continuing the full journey of life.
- don’t be afraid to take the longer way.
- problems and trials come because “we are designed for greatness”
3. To follow our dreams we must have the determination to run the long race – no matter what happens. No matter what is the past.
- Let us not focus on the roadblocks. Let us focus on the goals and dreams – no matter what happens.
