I almost forgot when was the last time i made my last post.  My weekend was really occupied that i easily get tired so i failed to give an update.  My daughter and I and some friends made a lot of pictures of this weekend activity.

Yesterday, the AHPA delegates went around this city to see the wonder of nature in two well-known places in the Philippines if not the world.   First destination was the Agus 4 Hydro Electric Plant in Balo-i, Lanao del Norte.  From there, we proceed to Maria Christina Falls, the final outlet of the water that runs from the Lake Lanao through the turbines/tunnels that supplies electricity all over Mindanao and Siquijor.  Everyone had fun and i am sure when my cousin arrives he will enjoy the place as much as he enjoyed the florida vacations he took last month. He made that trip with friends and he will be home in PH for the Christmas season together with his family.  We just had a long weekend that feels like an unforgetable vacation.  In two  weeks, we will have again another long break for the Christmas vacation.  I hope everyone is looking forward to it.

There’s quite a number of pictures to be uploaded from the camera then to be resized so just let me share with a couple – just a teaser:

Happy weekend everyoned!

It’s a full weekend.  Thank God we have a very long weekend here in this part of the planet.

Good evening ladies and gentleman!  (waving)

Am saying hi from the 4th floor of the MSH annex building. (banana dance)  Thanks to the kindness of my kind buddy, she let me have a time to browse.  She thought i will do farmtown but since i don’t have anything to be harvest tonight so i thought of blogging.

I am excited to be here at the moment – excited as in waving and dancing but i can’t erase from my thoughts the massacre that happened in Maguindanao yesterday.  Blame it on no TV in my quarters i would not have any idea of this barbaric happening if i did not glance at the newspaper this morning.  I had a busy day, so i put asided  the reading of newspaper at lunchbreak.  At 6 pm i took sometime to have a break to browse for an update of the massacre and the whole story – many sites  came up and i clicked on the ABS-CBN .  The way the  words describe the scene i can’t believe that gruesome killings that happen only in movies have happened yesterday in one of the highways of Mindanao. Tsk tsk tsk……………oh barbarians stop the heinious crimes and make Mindanao a peaceful place for everyone – local and foreign.

In my opinion, the act was unforgivable in human point of view but only God knows what’s best for those bad guys.  Reading the names of those who were victims (partial list) really grips my heart in sadness.  They are:

1. Eden Mangudadatu (Vice Mayor of Mangudadatu municipality and sister of Buluan Vice Mayor Toto Mangudadatu)

2. Jenalyn Tiamson-Mangudadatu (wife of Toto Mangudadatu)

3. Mamutabay Mangudadatu (aunt)

4. Rowena Mangudadatu

5. Farina Mangudadatu

6. Wahida Ali Kalim (civilian)

7. Faridah Sabdullah (aunt)

8. Zorayda Bernan (cousin)

9. Rayda Sapalon Abdul (cousin)

10. Pinky Balayman (cousin)

11. Ella Balayman (cousin)

12. Rahima Pyuto-Palawan (relative)

32. Bong Reblando, Manila Bulletin

33. Victor Nuñez (UNTV)

34. Macmac Ariola (UNTV)

35. Jimmy Cabillo (UNTV)

This is not the first killings in relation to politics but i think this is the first gruesome killings of defenseless party who were women and professionals.

May their souls rest in peace. Condolence to the bereaved families. May you find comfort in the promises of Allah!

Our Weekend Memoirs

PH theme this week is BIRD or BIRDS. I am posting late because i was not online yesterday enough to make a post.  I got a few photos of birds to share and since it was taken on a weekend, i also thought of sharing this post with my OWM friends.

All these birds were taken at Opol Aviary.

As i edited the size and enhanced the colors of the birds, i realized they are beautiful and they should not be in caged.  They should be flying free up in the sky to really enjoy life. :)

Happy weekend to all of you!

Fish for a Pet

While doing our rounds last Thursday evening, we discovered that one of the girls got a fish for pet. She just bought it days ago from one of the pet shops. The fish is so cute with as striking orange color. The fish is similar to the fishes that is in our fish pond at the side of this building where i am in. The area has been improved because is saw them purchase some pond supplies so am sure they want the fish to grow big beautifully. I also thought of getting a fish for pet but am wondering if i can be able to take good care of it.  I can now pet a fish because my pet cat is now left in my original home.

So what do you think?  A pet fish for a pet puppy?

Belated Happy Birthday, Tish!

It’s been raining here since last night so i am not sharing the shots i took this morning. They looked so gloomy and i don’t like it because it might affect my mood and i don’t want it.  I want to appear sunshiny so that the acne treatment which am using now won’t be so obvious.  If i appear to be so excited my cheeks will turn so red and it’ will be seen obviously that am on medication.

So let me share here a cloudy blue sky because i know that on the day i took this shot, it was a very nice day for taking sky photos. :)

This was taken along the boulevard beach in Dapitan City.

He died yesterday, November 19, but i only knew it today when i open the yahoo homepage.  This is what happened when i don’t watch TV (i have no TV in my room) nor browse the internet during night time.

The news came as a shock because i never knew he was sick.  Personally, he is a very good actor.  He is good in different roles he played.  He can be play a good daddy and he can also play a very villain one.    I think the last one i saw of him was  on a teleserye on primetime.

Condolence to the bereaved family, wife, and daughter.  I just knew it too that his wife is Laurice Guillean one of my fave actress because of Flordeluna.  According to the news, he is an ulirang ama and  a good husband to his wife, a very professional person as an actor and as a writer.  He will be a big loss to the showbiz industry but the show must go on.  May his good memories will be etched in the hearts of those whom he has worked with.

Johnny D died of cancer – cancer of the lymph nodes.  And he’s been battling with it for sometime already.  Early this year, he thought he’s ok and on remission but maybe lately it got worst.  So Johnny D, rest in peace!

Am here waving my hand!

Id like to grab these few minutes to think and to write i am thinking.  :) I think my last post was of the other day.  I had a long day yesterday so there was no update.  Id just like to share what’s up since i moved to the dorm.

I had a fun time waking up at 5:30 after my alarm sounds.  Then i had to reach for the buzzer button to  give the first warning that our worship will be in   15 minutes.   I then get out of bed and do some stretching in the lobby and enjoy the cool breeze and the early morning view below.  The dorm lobby faces the front building of the hospital and beyond it is the highway.  I have a nice view of the sky from 4 angles (north, south, east, west) but haven’t took time to snap yet.  I was still adjusting to my schedule eh.

Gone are the days of waking up at 7 am or at times 7:30 am and try to move like a lighting to avoid tardiness. hahaha.  Gone are my late night TV viewing, too because i don’t have TV in the room.  Though there’s a tube in the worship hall yet, there are so many students watching it when the Dean allows.  Last night, they were sort of punished because the TV was left on for they dunno how many hours but the Dean caught it ON and no one’s viewing.  So she locked it and when they request for viewing they were disapproved.

There is a nightly checking of attendance in every room.  Take note, there are 10 rooms to check.  For the past two nights, we checked at 11 but last night we did it a bit earlier like 10:30.  It was more a relaxing one for me as i was beginning to get the hang of the routine and also am starting to memorize some names and faces.  It was relaxing yet i was tired. I had really a long day.  I arrived in the dorm at 8:30 in the evening already.   Good thing the elevator was still working so i used the lift instead of the stairs.

Early checking means earlier time to bed too.  I had a dreamless sleep last night and hearing the alarm sounds at 5:30 does not feel like a chore anymore.

Tomorrow, the sky photos i will be sharing will be ones taken from the dormitory floor (4th floor) of the building.

For now let me share some old photos taken June this year. :)

All are excited to go into water but each one got different facial expression to show off their excitement. All of us enjoyed the 3 hrs ride down the river and one of the unforgetable rapids is called 4396508 or whirlpool one.  It really felt like we were inside a washing machine.   Though i was scared everytime we hit a rapids but still i want to go back if i have the chance.

Two Offices and Two Homes

I came early to work today (November 16) because it’s my first day to report in my new office.  Actually not a new office but an additonal office, an addition to what i have for sometime now.

I made a profile statement in my facebook account saying that as of 7 pm last night, i embarked into a new chapter of my life.  It’s an exciting but also a very challenging one so i asked for prayers.  I made it that way because i just can’t say straight last night of my new (an additional) job description this semester.  For everyone’s information, i accepted the challenge to become an Assistant Dean in the Girl’s Dormitory of this college.  It has an almost 70 ladies occupants.  I know it would not be an easy job dealing with the current generation children, but I am praying very hard that I can work with them well. I hope and pray that i will be more patient, more understanding but firm with the rules and regulations of the college.

I will be working along with Ma’am JD (photo below), the ever beautiful, young dean for two semesters now. With her, I am sure that it will be a nice first semester in this new work.

P1010338

That’s an additional work and well, also an additional home.  I will be staying in the dorm while i have this job and Dimple of course will come along with me.  I haven’t finalized my move last night because the former Asst. Dean has not yet moved out.  So maybe this coming weekend, I will have the place ready for a photo shoot. lol!

I guess that from time to time i will be posting some of my experiences as an assistant dean (let me call it “assistant mommy”  so am making a new category for that under parenting.  I am trying to be prepared for behavioral problems in the future and i hope mommies out there can share with me some tips on how should i deal with them. I guess it’s now time to be active again in mommy forums.
