Blog to World; Blog For You & Me

My post’s title is the theme of the writing competition that is on going  now at Lainy’s blog to mark her blogging anniversary.

Now all i have to do to be able to qualify to this hot blogsary celebration is – i have to write about my blogging journey.  I had the whole day to think of how should i start or where should is start.  So, let me start.

I started blogging, actually journaling online in September 14, 2006 in my friendster account.  I got interested to start that because i’ve already been reading many other blogs, especially of Mitch, but i can’t bring myself to start one, not until someone urged me to do so when he read my posts in my friendster account.   With the encouragement, of Rhoen, amd with the inspiration of Mitch, i started making a blog for Dimple which i later deleted because i integrated my posts with my main personal blog.  I would say personal because it is a free wp hosted blog and money making is not allowed there.   Earning is not my aim when i first started blogging.  I find my blog as an outlet of what i think on anything and what i would like to share.  With my first personal blog, i began to blog hop through Mitches visitors and that was almost the time too i joined a Filipina mommy community

From that point of blogging, i then started my photoblog in May 2007.  I was getting the hang of blogging and am enjoying it very much.  I then started to meet bloggers  who earn while blogging.  I then thought maybe i should try.  I did not wish to earn much money, i just want to prove that is it really true to earn dollars by blogging – so my blogspot blog was born.  In 4 months time, i already got 4 blogs to maintain.  Meaning, i got hooked! lol!

It is almost 2 years now that i have been blogging, and i can say i enjoyed every minute of it.  Talking of perks i got in blogging aside from oppsss – there are lots but i would just like to mention some major ones as they help me spice up my blogging life.

1.  I met a lot of online friendship that continue even offline.  Special and huge thanks to Kerslyn for helping me me realized my first personal domain and later free hosted another personal domain for me.

2.  Another huge thanks to Mommy Ruby for being an angel by making my freehosted blogspot blog into a domain one.  And then later she offered very affordable hosting so she enabled me to wp hosted my blogspot blog.

3.  I feel i have developed blogger friendship throughout these years and they are many to mention yet i have them each one in my mind and heart – they inspired me to continue blogging as i got ideas on what to blog about, they let me learn blogging etiquettes (if there are some) lol and they help my blogs in one way or another get famous in the blogosphere. (yeah am famous) lol!

4.  Mitch played a big role in my blogging life.  I dunno if she believes me when i say that but really through her personal blog, i was inspired to start my own.  She introduced me to Pinoy Moms Network where i met a lot of great moms and also to Paraiso Philippines where i won my first $50.00 cold cash by just posting endlessly (non-stop) for 8 long hours.

5.  Through blogging, i got active in the forum site of  Paraiso Philippines, a travel information site, that made me able to attend the 2nd Mindanao Blogger Summit in General Santos City in October last year by sponsoring all my expenses.  That event made me met the author of this competition in personal.  Actually i only met her there and we talked a lot during the night of the Tuna Cocktail party.  That time she informed me of her on going contest of which i become one of the winners later.

6.  Rhoen, another longtime friend, is the one who gave me the strong push to start blogging.   Or else i won’t be blessed by what i enumerated above.

Now, let me congratulate the active blogger girl in the person of Lainy.  I wish her more success in blogging and real life.  Personally i also have to thank blogging or else i will never have the chance to take these photos with her:

Friday & A lil update of the bombings

Hey am back to blog after a short holiday from updating.  I got up at 9:30 pm after a long nap.  This is what happened today.

I woke up a bit late because today is a local holiday (Muslim holiday).  Woke up late because i don’t have any plans of going out.  If you have read my blog yesterday there was bombing in the city around 1:30 and last night before 7 pm, while still at work, we heard there were school threats and we let the students go home cancelling their class for thesis defence.  My boss was so perked up coz it was a long day for him but he thought he can finish it all before going home as today he left for Davao with his darling for the holidays.  So i think, there were around 6 or more groups whose classes were postpone to January 5.

So after breakfast this morning, i was lazing around and at around past i decided to go back to sleep.  I was not able to pick up new movies eh.  Am not yet in deep sleep when my phone beeped an incoming message and it was one of our student asistants telling me that she is outside our house…and oh my, she was outside our door.  Ushered her in and i decided that it’s movie time for our visitor. Hehehehe so i watch sometime with her with break inbetween to cook food for lunch. I really did not cook..i just did some vege fried rice and sotanghon soup.  I guess she texted her SA mate and the other girl also came. 

We had lunch (Dutch) to maximize the time.  We watched, A very special love and for the First Time.  But halfway through the KC and Richard movie, i was getting sleepy.  I excused myself and told them am going to sleep.  That was around 4 pm and eyyy i just got up at 9:30 this evening and was surprise that my daughter is still up while my mom and neice are already alseep.  Bruished my teeth two times, logged on to PPF to reply to threads, had coffee, then log online.  Now my coffee cup is empty and am not yet sleepy.

Update on the bombing –

Per TV news, there were only 2 dead.  They were the baggage boys.  Lucky that day there was no lady in there but no matter who it is still sad people died in a merciless way.   I dunno what’s up in the city today because i really did not go out.  I did not even go to the market for vegetables.  So our food for tomororw would just be anythign dried stuff in our stock box.   There were many injured people being treated now in different hospitals.  I think more were brought to the city hospital than our Sanitarium.  A family was brought in and it was the wife who was seriously injured.  They described to me she got a hole in her head.  She was near the spot because she went to pick her baggage while her child was on her side to be with her.  The kiddo was hit but not much as the mom.  The hubby was nearby waiting for them but he hardly have a scratch.  I dunno if the woman survived, i did not go to the office today.    It was shown on TV that 2 persons in Arabian garbed left a bag at the baggage counter.  I wish they can hear the conversations to decipher if they are really who they pretend to be.  I don’t like to point my fingers on anyone because casualties were not only Christians…and come on it’s Christmas and the next day (today) is a Muslim holiday.  And what in the world these group of people are thinking why they want to kill people on such a time and in such a small city. 

Oh well, i hope department store owners will be more careful now.  It is not just enough to accept baggage into the counter.  They should let their guys check the checked in baggage before they hand to the person their claim number.  I think Gaisano mall (new mall) is doing that and there are lots of marines too at the mall so these bad people can’t penetrate in there. 

See, i have spent the whole day at home and i only posted now in this blog. heheheehe I was online a bit this morning just to post my skywatch entry and also the Friday inspiration.  Am also going to check hotel in las vegas for any holiday offers because my cousin in Washington wanted a break from a snowy Christmas. They are house arrest for now as it was snowing hard. As of today the front of her home has an 8 inches deep snow and it has not yet stopped snowing while we were chatting this morning.

I dunno how long i will be up but i have to get up before 8 am tomorrow so that i can get ready for the 8 am to 8 pm posting contest at Paraiso Philippines Forum site.
