It is just a few weeks away and School Year 2012-2013 shall start. That will also meant that my daughter will be going again to boarding school and this time she will be in the Junior class. How time flies but yes, she will be in the third year of high school.

This new school year promises a better dormitory accommodation especially for the girls because they will start occupying (finally) the new dormitory. It will be concrete and and I think it is much spacious compared to their rooms in the old dorm. The dorm rate will be a bit higher compared to the old dorm but the thought that the old dorm is not a safe place for the kids to stay, then parents just need to accept that it will be a more expensive year this year.

The old dorm is really really old because that was still the dormitory where my mom stayed when she attended high school in my Alma Mater. It is also the same dormitory where I stayed for the whole four years of my high school life.

In a week or two, we will be buying some school stuff that she needs including a bed mattress. With the new mattress I will also have to buy full size kids bedding. This will be a more challenging year for her so foam and new bedding sheets will be a treat for her.

I love the sky especially when it is so blue at the zenith of morning hours or when turns fiery red during in the late afternoon. It gave me the feeling that the world is so wide and I should free my heart and thoughts from feelings that will wear me down. It seems that when I looked up the sky, the stress stored in my body is being sucked out especially wnen I close my eyes and take a deep breath.

So the blue in here does not mean feelings of sadness. Blue means the color of the day.

This is what greeted me when I went out of our gate. I am on my way to work. Inspired because am in love with the thought that somewhere over the rainbow someone is looking up at the same sky.

I also wore blue that day! I realized that this color compliments my skin color best. I love red and now I also love blue.

Another thing I love that day was — I went to work in jeans! Not the usual office attire because that day was a few days before the 60th anniversary and we were still busy with the preparations. After lunch that day, we went to Cagayan de Oro City to scout for board room chairs and also gave out invitations to some establishments.

Cagayan de Oro also had a blue sky that day and so the sunset was golden that afternoon. It gives a nice reflection to their goldyen yellow city hall.

Long time ago, I always make time to chat with my friends especially when I was still working abroad. When my computer bugs down, I go crazy feeling like life was sucked out of me. I tend to be angry and irritable and in psychology, it was my only lifeline to connect with my family as I was only living alone abroad. My family is so far away from me and after work, I go home to a quiet apartment. So, if the communication line to the outside world corrupts, life really feels like a drag.

I chat with my classmates, former workmates, and even with new people. There are many kinds of people in the chat rooms and some are even offering free psychic chats. I am not into psychic thing but I knew that some of my students tried to experience the free chats. I dunno up to what extent their session chats lasted but I heard that a few of them missed sleeping in the night because knowing what is in store for them in the future sounds exciting.

There are times I wish that I know what would my future be. Especially in times of disappointments and broken relationships. But also think that if we know everything about our future, it will limit our adventure spirit as well as our creativity. Not knowing our future will let us look forward to a new day as an adventure. So I told my students to spend more time in studying than in online psychic chat because if they want to be successful in the future, they should work hard so that they will become what they wish to be. They told me that it is fun. They use these chats just to have fun. Good thing I have work every day so that kept me busy from also trying the psychic chats.

It was in November 2011 that I received an email that I was one of the selected few who will join DFAT this year. I cannot forget my heart leapt with joy of happiness that I got a slot.

DFAT means Davao Food Appreciation Tour. Started 2008 and it was one of the best blogging event in the history of Davao Bloggers. Now in its fourth year and I feel lucky to be able to experience this event. This will be attended by 19 or more bloggers from all over the country.

I am excited to attend because it’s not only I will experience tasting the foods (some foods) of Davao but will also be able to get to bond in person some great bloggers.

Organizers of this event are the following:

Renz Bulseco of the Travelling Nomad - http://www.thetravelingnomad.com

Mark Cabrera of Markable - http://www.markable.me

Anj Nacorda of Davaoisms - http://www.davaoisms.com

This is my pre-event post. Not required but I just want to share it here in case I will not be able to regularly update this site because I will be busy going around Davao. If ever I have the time to update you about our DFAT experience, then head to my travel blog at http://www.pinaytravels.com

Wish me a safe trip and God bless everyone!

This is our little guy at home. As expected of his age, he moves a lot. If you are not careful in taking care of him, he can be gone in seconds and you will have your breath out trying to catch up with him. He can’t stay put in his spot for a long time. Oh well, he is a kid and he loves to run around. So I think the best place for him to go is the park. A park with many slides and other park toys to enjoy. I am sure it will be a good place to let him hang around. I am sure also that it will induce early sleeping habits. He sleeps so late that at times I am wondering if he is normal or not. He is normal but his mom sleeps late, too and he never goes to sleep unless his mom will go and lie down with him.

Next time, I will tell my sis to check out of there are safe parks around and bring this guy there at least twice or thrice a week.

The first day of May is a non-working day for us. I was thankful about it because it allowed me to rest more and get well from cold bug. I did not perfectly get well but surely it made me feel better. So in the afternoon, I decided am strong enough to go out and so I told the kids we go malling and afterwards we will go shopping for supplies.

Dimple and Can2 were very happy and much much more the little guy. They had the chance to go around from the ground floor to the fourth floor as I made time to pay our electric bill, the internet bill, and also my Globe bill. Good thing these outlets are open even during national holidays.

It is the duty of the parents to safe-proof the home for the little toots. With their eagerness to explore, if possible, they can explore the whole house from top to bottom. But they can never do that because our eyes are always on them. But what if? Is your home really safe for your little kids?

There are many ways we simple take for granted at home and they pose a threat to our kids. And they are the candles, the matches, knives, scissors, insect sprays, medicines, and many more. That is the reason why Marton designed a safety knife as Martor USA box cutter. Box cutter are in demand when the kids goes to school, so for the safety of our kids, let’s provide them with one that will keep them from injury or accident.

It’s better be informed momsies than being sorry later.
