LATSOF – A Reunion

The sky is my object yet there are so many things i can see aside from the sky. Can you see the 2 little shades over there? I wonder how it feels to shoot the sky from that spot. i guess several photos of this view because of the several visits yet i have not gone there. Maybe next time i will try.

The last time we were there (when this photo was taken) was in December 13, 2009. Me and my highschool classmates (MMA Batch 1990) met for a get together. The class president and vice president (social) arrived from Australia. So the reunion’s expenses were shouldered by them. So nice of them.

There was a total of 17 who came and if those who who got sick came we would have totalled 20. One classmate who got acne problems in highschool got a very smooth face now. She said she used best acne treatment from Malaysia. Her face got no trace of pimple or acne marks. I told her I have similar problems now and she promised to send me one soon.

Hi From the Dormitory!

Good evening ladies and gentleman!  (waving)

Am saying hi from the 4th floor of the MSH annex building. (banana dance)  Thanks to the kindness of my kind buddy, she let me have a time to browse.  She thought i will do farmtown but since i don’t have anything to be harvest tonight so i thought of blogging.

I am excited to be here at the moment – excited as in waving and dancing but i can’t erase from my thoughts the massacre that happened in Maguindanao yesterday.  Blame it on no TV in my quarters i would not have any idea of this barbaric happening if i did not glance at the newspaper this morning.  I had a busy day, so i put asided  the reading of newspaper at lunchbreak.  At 6 pm i took sometime to have a break to browse for an update of the massacre and the whole story – many sites  came up and i clicked on the ABS-CBN .  The way the  words describe the scene i can’t believe that gruesome killings that happen only in movies have happened yesterday in one of the highways of Mindanao. Tsk tsk tsk……………oh barbarians stop the heinious crimes and make Mindanao a peaceful place for everyone – local and foreign.

In my opinion, the act was unforgivable in human point of view but only God knows what’s best for those bad guys.  Reading the names of those who were victims (partial list) really grips my heart in sadness.  They are:

1. Eden Mangudadatu (Vice Mayor of Mangudadatu municipality and sister of Buluan Vice Mayor Toto Mangudadatu)

2. Jenalyn Tiamson-Mangudadatu (wife of Toto Mangudadatu)

3. Mamutabay Mangudadatu (aunt)

4. Rowena Mangudadatu

5. Farina Mangudadatu

6. Wahida Ali Kalim (civilian)

7. Faridah Sabdullah (aunt)

8. Zorayda Bernan (cousin)

9. Rayda Sapalon Abdul (cousin)

10. Pinky Balayman (cousin)

11. Ella Balayman (cousin)

12. Rahima Pyuto-Palawan (relative)

Staff:

13. Atty Cynthia Oquendo

14. Atty Connie Brizuela

15. Mr. Oquendo, father of Cynthia

16. Unto (driver)

17. Razul Daud (driver)

18. Eugene Demillo (driver)

19. Miriam Kalimbol (business supervisor)

20. Civic Edsa (driver)

21. Patrick Pamansang (driver)

22. Chito (driver)

23. Abdullah Haji Dolong (driver)

Media:

24. Ian Subang (Dadiangas Times)

25. Leah Dalmacio (Forum)

26. Gina dela Cruz (Today)

27. Marites Cablitas (Today)

28. Joy Duhay (UNTV)

29. Henry Araneta (DZRH)

30. Andy Teodoro (Mindanao Inquirer)

31. Neneng Montaño (formerly of RGMA)

32. Bong Reblando, Manila Bulletin

33. Victor Nuñez (UNTV)

34. Macmac Ariola (UNTV)

35. Jimmy Cabillo (UNTV)

This is not the first killings in relation to politics but i think this is the first gruesome killings of defenseless party who were women and professionals.

May their souls rest in peace. Condolence to the bereaved families. May you find comfort in the promises of Allah!

OWM – Nannying the Day Away

Our Weekend Memoirs

I slept late Friday night because of the water supply so i woke up late in the morning. While getting ready for church, my new nephew was sort of cranky.   Always crying that we dunno how to still him. Maybe it was the humidity. So mom asked me to turn on the air conditioner and i ended up nannying while his mom went back to the kitchen cook.

The baby and I had a very very nice sleep and when he woke up i was still sleepy as in sleepy but i have to be up and hold him or play with him.  Here are some of our photos:

– opps got ya!  Eating away one of Mickey’s paws?

- Now he is tired again after tasting and licking all that he can get hold of.  After the cooing and the singing and the monkey tricks i did for him, he signaled for a hungry cry and so i gave him his milk and i sway (using my pillow) him to sleep. –

OWM # 5 – Sick Baby & the Cook

Our Weekend Memoirs

Last week, my 4 month old nephew was admitted due to very high temperature. Tests showed he got UTI. I spent my time almost whole day Friday and evening of Saturday (whole night) while Dimple in school cooked some vege recipe during the culmination of the Nutrition Week. :)

He can be an energetic and noisy babe when his temperature is normal.  When am the one with him i always keep his arms with the IV away from him.  I can giggle watching him putting anything (everything) he can hold inside his mouth.

An hour later after this shot, his temperature rose up to 42 and he was really restless and got a sound that really tells us he is not feeling well. :)

In school, my daughter’s class were divided into some group and they were told to cook the food (viand) they like to eat for lunch. My daughter’s group is composed mostly of girls and many wanted to eat vegetables so they brought fresh vegetables with them.

While the others make fire -

Some others did the task of dehusking  or deboning the malunggay -

Dimple being the leader of the group was only tasked to bring kitchen utensils and the firewood.  She proudly told me that she cooked (sautee) eggplant and string beans:

- garlic in the heated oil then followed by the vegetables.

p1010077

when i saw this photo in the camera and saw water i asked her if she put in the water after putting in the vegetables. she said yes and i told her to correct it next time. i told her to put in water after the vegetables are partly cooked.

I asked her if it tasted nice and she proudly said nice because they used Magic Sarap! hahaha.  She said that she wanted to bring some for me for a taste but her classmates loved it so none was left. :)

Well, it does not matter. I was able to taste their noodle soup with malunggay and eggs.  It tasted very nice only to discover they have used up all the seasoning powder plus magic sarap.  Ohh my gawd, i told her, yeah the simple viand tastes so heavenly but it will cause us to die early. hahaha

Here’s the group leader with her teacher:

Happy Sunday to all and i hope you enjoyed these simple photos of our weekend last week. :)

The Preggy Sis :-)

Just an update.  I went to see her after work because she asked me to buy milk for her.  Her stock ran out and she does not go to store to buy so i was the one to do it.  I picked also some cinnamon bread and a liter of soya milk.  It’s been two weeks since the last time i saw her.

Photobucket

This is our first picture together after a long long time. hehehe.  I mean just the two of us.  We have several pictures but with other friends or family.  I sort of miss her.  When she is not at home i miss her but when she is home we often argued.  Pero mahirap na makipag argue sa buntis so i feel a bit blessed she stays this time at her best friend’s home.    She is really getting bigger and bigger and more plump each day.  She is now on her 8th month.  Her edc is March 5 but i know that can be two weeks earlier or two weeks later after March 5.  I really hope for a safe delivery.  Safe for her and the baby.  So far the visits to the doctor always confirm that mother and child are ok.  The baby is in good position blah blah blah.  Oh well, i just hope nothing toxic will happen to her when she is about to pop the baby out.

She still loves to eat though she has been adviced since last month to control her carbohydrates intake.

Photobucket Here she is. She’s munching on popcorn after dinner ha.  I was also busy eating with her coz my wish baby was fast asleep.  I put him to sleep before going to the table for dinner.  But before she left we also had our moments which i love — the last time i saw my baby prince was in December 26 – so it was 1 month yesterday.

Oh my sis got already a name for her baby prepared.  The baby will be named 2 names — R — Marlou.  I forgot the the full word for the letter R but both names are of her two best friends.  I told her why not add something of V so that she’s included in the names but she said pangit daw name nya so huwag nalang.  I suggested Mark Joaquin for the baby but she said it will be her friends who will decide.

I love the name Josh or Joshua.  So i thought of these names too:

Richard Josh – nickname RJ

Vaughn Joshua – nickname VJ

Ralf Marlou Vaughn – nickname RM

The Sun is Up!

Was in the office this morning and when i came home around lunchtime — the blue skies and the dried roads is a good sign that the coming week will be a better week (weather wise).  I canals osee many people carrying umbrella to prevent themselves from the heat of the sun instead of the rain. I just love the feeling.  Am enjoying the site although my eyes was not ready for the song reflection of the sun.  I always use sun glasses when am out as part of taking good care of my eyes (that’s often exposed to the glare of the pc screen) but this morning when i went out i did not carry it because i was thinking the sun won’t come out.  But i was wrong.  This welcomed my sight when  i approached my home.  This is the front of the 3door apartments. -

The lines are full because there are a total of 3 families to hang their laundy.

How’s the weather out there?  Hope you had a sunny one like what we had here today morning.

TT – New Year

This is my first for this year 2009. Last week i missed this because of connection and this week i thank for the reminder in my mailbox so am here. I got only 1 thing to toot about this week.  Though i’ve already mentioned this in my weekly round-up but would love to mention it again here.

My sis is now on her 7th month and the ultrasound showed that her EDC will be on March 5.  And the most exciting thing to know is that — it’s going to be a boy!  The baby boy addition in our family causes excitement for all of us.

That’s her tummy last December 25th and here’s a snap of her 4month old fundus.  Funny thing is that i think that she is really huge.  More huge than i was when i was preggy primy. :-)

Though my sis is experiencing a huge loss in love and relationship but she is gaining strenght from the growing life inside her.  She’s a tough one too – i guess tougher than me.

Another Grandson

My sis went to see her Ob this morning without my knowledge.  I just knew it when i received a text message telling me that she is going to have a baby boy.  Am got so excited.  Am so happy.  I mean i had moments when i was pregnant with my first that i was really hoping it will be a boy.  It was not granted instead am given a beautiful baby girl.  But now, my sis wishes came true – she is going to have a baby boy.

She is not staying with us these days so i didn’t have a monthly shot of her growing fundus.  I had a 4 months of her and this is a 7 month fundus of her -

25122008398

i think it’s so huge and really she is so huge now.  Her doctor told her to lessen her weight increase as she has increased 11 pounds since October 11 til today.   Please help us pray that she will have a very very safe pregnancy.  It’s all i could wish for her.

PH – Hope

I am using here a photo of me with my mom and my daughter. Since my mom got sick after New year 2006, i alwasy hope that my mom will still be able to witness the next new year. This photo is our Chrismtas 2008 photo. Unfortunately during the new year’s eve, we were not able to take photo or it was not so much fun coz she had a mild attack on her way to church. She was alone in going to church. Thanfully she arrived home conscious before she passed out. I am so happy she got well few minutes after taking a sublingual and we also tried to massage her very very cold hands. Her face is as white as a sheet of paper and she is very cold to touch – just like dead. Oh well, my mom did make it through the new year and until today. I am HOPEful that she will be able to see new year 2010.

When SAHM-one Speaks # 21

# 21 – When was the last time that you spent Christmas with the whole family? It was last year.  Since i arrived home in June 2005, every Christmas is spent at home with the family.  But Dec 25, 2005, mom was not with us and after new year she had a heart attack, so after that each Chrsitmas and new year is spent at home…as i am also thinking it’s also a thanksgiving time for her for letting her live to another Christmas. :)

Oppss am waiting for question # 22
