New Semester Has Just Began

We had a long weekend lately so the second semester for MSH College oficially started last Tuesday.  Though the enrollment is still going on yet the classes has already began.  There were major moves of departments so construction in some part of the campus is going on.

Not far from the campus, there is one residential area that is working on garage flooring renovation. The materials used gave some workers idea that maybe they too will have a garage face-lift when their finances allow them. Good thing for me, i don’t have a garage so i don’t have to worry about that.

I wish this school a happy and productive second semester. If the number of enrolled students are not as much as 3 years ago, well, i just knew that this school is going to survive. This is God’s school ya know.

Our Weekend Memoirs

I miss weekends like this – where we forget the stress of work.  It’s only time like this that we get to laugh our hearts out.  Cheers for our friends like what we used to when we were young kids.  It’s moments like this when the kids in us take some time to be out. :)

OWM – Renewal of Marriage Vows

Our Weekend Memoirs

It’s another weekend and am excited because it is another OWM time. :) As promised last week, i will be sharing the photos of the marriage encounter culmination program – the renewal of marriage vow.

A week ago today, was a busy crazy day for me. (oppssss) this post as continued today. I started this post Saturday afternoon but was not able to finish this. Now it’s Tuesday over here and i really have to finish this.

I will be showing off the photos one by one and will have a small description in each of them. Enjoy!

This weekend was very unforgetable that even Pastor Teves himself was still having MSH/College hangover last week.

MSH College Celebrates Crystal!

Our Weekend Memoirs

At last i can now post my OWM. I know i should have done this anytime of Sunday or before i went home that late evening, but i was too tired to resize the photos that i would be showing off this current issue.

This weekend, our College celebrated it’s 15th Founding Anniversary! Personally, I feel so proud and happy to be part of the family especially when i think of the its humble beginnings. It was mentioned by the father of the college last Satuday afternoon that they started using the vacated elementary school building (my alma mater) as their first classrooms. I can just just imagine! Being an MSH kid, it’s been my dream to be connected with the hospital as in hospital but being connected with the hospital college, i felt it’s still partly a dream come true. :)

I have many photos made over the weekend but if i was not part of the food committee then i could have shot more moments.  But even then — i will share with you all some photos taken Friday afternoon until the Saturday.  :)   ok?  –

The nursing department faculty and staff led the Sabbath school program.  Since it was the last Sabbath of July, it was part of their program to honor the July celebrants – those who celebrated their birthday, anniversaries, baptism, and other celebrations.  Since am a Julynian I stood up and joined the group in the front and we received this token plus a prayer.   One thing i observed that day — the color was RED. RUBY RED.  A timely color for the crystal anniversary.   By the way, that token is a pen holder.  I thought of keeping it at home but decided to just use it in the office. :)   It now graces my cluttered office table. hehehehe

p1010229

In the afternoon, the highlight of the program was the interview portion of MSH Personalities.  One thing to note was that one of the participants was one of the founding administrator of the College in the person of Mrs. LG Pefanco.   The youngest of the group was the current Registrar, Miss VG Manga.  The other two is the DSF – Mr. C Estoque and the DSA – Ms. PA Eusebio.  All of them shared beautiful experiences.  The program did not end there as everyone thought.  After that was the ambush interview of –

the President – Dr. ECA Nadal.  He shared many beautiful beginning moments of the College that really made us realized that God has done great things for this College.

p1010246

After the program, we went around the basketball to see the streamers/tarpaulined greetings.  This is Ma’am Ruby, one of the pioneer teachers of the College.  (See she’s in Red, too!)

This is all for now.  Maybe next OWM issue, will post more about this Crystal celebration. :)

Sorry for being late – but late is better than never. :)

Look At The Sky Friday # 3

The moment i got on top of the Lover’s Rock, the sky looks like this. The sun was at this level and it was a wonderful view. After taking sky shots, we alternate taking photos of ourselves. I really enjoyed the time hanging out with the General Education faculty. I thought awhile that it feels like am one of them. lol! But anway, while spending more time, the sun continued to set then i was able to capture this moment.  Not just me but everyone on top of the Lover’s Rock.    And the change happened in just a couple of minutes.

Smiley Sunday # 1

Smiley Sunday Ribbon

Jean left me a message in my blog’s chat box to join this meme. I checked the site and mechanics right away. It was good and i think very interesting. So here’s my first entry.

The week-end was full of fun because i was on a road trip to Zamboanga del Norte particularly Dapitan and Dipolog City. I had fun mingling with all students that went with the trip. Sharing stories too with my fellow workers brought a sunny smile to my face. Though i had some “my own moments” while taking photos, i still carry a smile on my face because all the view that i saw were very beautiful.

Though there were moments that was not laughter moments was not captured with a camera, yet there are locations or spots that brought a smile to my face and will share some here.

The Dapitan-Dipolog Trip

Hey am back!  Actually we were back last night.  I got home around 9 pm but i was so tired so i did not make any blog post anymore.  Though i said hi in plurkland hehehe and then read my emails and approved comments.

Thanks to those who left good wishes.  It was well appreciated.  Surely i had fun but it was not stress free.  It is not easy for the 15 faculty to manage 300 plus active students especially in outing activities.  Though many were good and naturally behaved students, yet there are also those who feels that they have the right to their dependency thus they give made the faculty and agency staff get worried.

The trip was an educational trip (History V), the Life and Works of Rizal oif Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital College.  It was a culmination trip  or major activity of the class.    Since some faculty backed out from the responsibility of being a chaperon at the last minute, so i was invited to come along and chaperoned one of the Vans.  I was assigned in Van # 10.  There were 18 vans all in all.

Anyway i have so many things to talk about the trip like the places we went to, the lecture on Rizals life and work in Dapitan, some personal reflections about the trip but i cannot share them all now.  Somehow this whole week i will be able to mention them along with my posts.  I will be narrating about the trip randomly in my 3 blogs and for sure many photos will be posted in my photoblog.

As i have mentioned in my other blog, i was only armed with a handphone camera so i really did not have great pictures.  But i tried my very best to capture all that i can.  And for those spots or corners my camera was not able to capture, oh well, they were etched inside my mind and will stay there forever.

So here are some photos: (pls click on the photo to enlarge)

After more than 5 hours of land travel, we arrived at this land mark, and that means we are just few kilometers from our destination.  Both places were our destination and after this moment, we heeded to Dipolog City for our lunch and for the first major itenerary.

Our first stop! Do you know what’s in here and what we did here?  Watch out for the next photos:

oK, at Vadia Gardens, we had our lunch.  It was a cool place for the 300 to have lunch.  The ambience of the place was for wedding reception and JS.  Some commented that if they knew we were eating there and also hear the first set of lecture, then they should hav told us to carry our gowns to be bagay to the place. hehehe

After eating lunch, there was a lecture or short overview on the life and works of Rizal in Dapitan  It was given by one of the history professor at MSU-IIT in Iligan.  He was an invited guest.

From Valdia Gardens off we went to —

010320091381

010320091382

That’s at the foot of Linabo Peak.  You have to make 3003 steps to reach the peak and not all 300 plus students made it to the top but some did.  Their proof?  Pictures.  The memorable spot (according to them) at the top is to have a picture taken at the top of the LOVER’S ROCK. Wow when i saw the picture, it was a huge rock.  Wish i made it to the top.  I only made 3 steps.  I was not even able to step or take a photo at the first station.   I was not really tired that time, but i was just milling aside because of so many students.  The entrance was packed for quite sometime for registration of names and for picture taking.  Another thing, it was also too hot and my almost bathing in my sweat.  As in init jud!

From the Linabo Peak we went to –

010320091410

The Rizal Shrine.    Everything inside the compound was about Rizal.  Some structures were just replicas but there were several things too that were originals like the class table and the black board that was placed in this building —

010320091409

Many photos can be seen inside this building.  Since it was already getting dark, my phone does not make nice photos so i only have few photos from there.  Later i will share a photo of Rizal and of Leonor Rivera, also Josephine Bracken.

Now am off to work, will continue my narrationlater.   lol.

To be continued!

Happy Sabbath!

The week of spiritual emphasis culminated today with a get together lunch or potluck.  With inspiring messages and encouragament, I am sure that everyone was filled spiritually.

The center of study this morning was John 14:1-3 – Let not your heart be troubled.  It is a common verse that every Christian memorizes.  How ironic that we memorize the lines yet we do worry so much if we encounter problems even the trivial ones.   We were reminded that though how much we sinned, God is always there for us.

Last night, we celebrated the Feast of Communion after the ordinance of foot washing.  But before the footwashing moments, we were blessed by the reminder of the significance of foot washing in our spiritual journey in life.   The text for the study was found in John 13.    It was my first time to hear someone wondered, “who washed Jeus feet.”    There was not a single record of who was the person that washed Jesus feet.  And if you too will wonder who — then just think that it was only Jesus who washed his own feet after washing everyone of His disciples feet.

Weekly Round-up {nov 24-30}

Nov 24 – 30

I can say that this week was a week of practice and our daily practice resulted on a very good outcome!  Of the four teams we always have the 4th place but for the Caroling Contest, we won the 2nd place.  All the while we really thought we would bag the over all 4th place but na….we got the 3rd place.

So Monday was a reminder day.  We instructed each one that by Tuesday afternoon we will have a practice in our office.  And after that, it was daily until Saturday evening.  We just missed FRiday because it was already Sabbath.

For Friday, in the morning, i was busy ordering foods for the Thanksgiving lunch on Saturday.   I went out to each outlet to pay the food ahead and then i passed by the grocery store to buy dispo plates, dispo spoons, and dispo glasses.  I also passed by the Telephone company too to have my former connection disconnected because am now using MyDSL connection.  I think it rans better than the previous one.    After the in-service meeting i found out that my boss will cook the chicken adobo in the office kitch.  I thought someone will do that.  But anyway, even though the water stopped flowing, we managed to get water from the neighbor apartment so we were able to do the job well enough.  We feasted on nice rice and yummy chicken adobo for Friday night dinner. :)

Saturday, i arrived at the office at 9:30.  My pick-up partner texted me that we will leave at 10 am.  So the first stop was at Kusina iligan for the tuna lumpia but the cook used mackerel instead.  Then, off to the Lai Lai Chinese Restaurant for the 4 seasons ordered by the Nursing Department.  Then after that we were off to Rosalindas to pick the 2 layers of Chocolate cake and also the Camote puto from Peenas. Then the last stop was at the Kadingan resto near the ILPI to get our ordered beef caldereta.

Sunday, i was back in the office before 8 am to prepare the place for the doctoral class.   Before everyone arrived, i washed the used plates, and kitchen utensils out there in the kitchen.  Am glad the water was back.  Once the class started, i the began cutting up a “black letter P” to be used for the evening program.  Had lunch with the professor, Dr. Bandiola, and Jing one of our student assistant, and also Ma’am Gaid, the Dean of the Nursing Dept.  It was a quick lunch then back to the office.

There was no connection, so i scrapped and i was able to make 2 LOs.

3 pm i went home to prepare my attire for the night.  And at 5:30 i was already in church for the thanksgiving service Inaguration program.   I was shocked for a moment coz i feel am the only one who was wearing a costume.  By the way, i used an Arabian woman daily wear (Abaya) with a head scarf.   The Med tech new laboratory and also the elevator in the hospital annex building were inaugurated.  The hospital and college have really much to be thankful this year. :)

The three week long thanksgiving celebration was culminated with a banquet at the 6th floor of the hospital annex building.  After blessing the elevator then the people went up using it.   The theme for our thanksgving program this year was — Tremendous Blessings Through God’s Leading. (if am in a mood will make a separate post of this later).

My Sunday night ended so late.  But it was worth it coz i received one of the special door prizes – A Bread Toaster.  I find myself walking home at 11 pm.
