If i say that i don’t mean to be unthankful for the blessings of rain.  But there are just moments that I wish it won’t rain.  This week is the Pasingot week i wish it won’t rain.  Yesterday, the opening program was cut due to the rain and this afternoon, instead of cancelling the cheer dance, they had it at the mph (4th floor)  I don’t like going up there so i missed the cheer dance.

Today is also slated as OPEN HOUSE day at the Boys Dormitory and Girls Dormitory.  We slept so late last night and final touch of the decluttering was done only this morning before the opening past 10.

I am not feeling well.  I caught the flu virus and the best place i wanna be right now is a dark and quiet bedroom.

This is a very stale post.  Oppss not a post but a late sharing of experience.  I should have done this the day after the outing but there were other things on the top list that writing about the mommy and daughter bonding was put aside.

I should have entitled this post: Lakwatsa sa Kitkai but as other PU2B bloggers know, non-english posts are not allowed in blogs that work for PU2B.

One week ago – May 25, Tuesday, Dimple and I had the chance to go to Cagayan de Oro just for fun.  I took a day’s leave from work just for the reason of going out with her and at the same time sending off my boss and his wife to the airport.  After dropping them off at the airport at 9:30 am, we are all left to ourselves with a vehicle and of course with a driver.

I asked Dimple where she wants to go.  I gave her two places – SM or Kit Kai Complex and she chose the later.  So from 10 am until the time we went home at 3 pm, we were at Kitkai.

Now, i want to let the photos do the talking.  I am just too overwhelmed with something today so i can’t think much on what to blah:

P5250012

~~our first stop~~
We had breakfast here.

P5250013~~ the girl and our food ~~
She’s not yet in picture mood :)

P5250019~~Our 2nd stop – South Philippine Union Conference ~~
The boss had some transaction inside.

The driver drives so comfortably for the boss wife that it took us 2 hours to travel from Iligan to the center of Cagayan de Oro.  It was a drag but we still had time so the boss did not complain. :)

P5250023~~Ma’am Betty at then entrance of the Hope Channel Building ~~

The boss wife was in the mood for picture taking which i also like, so this is one of her poses.  :)
The signage color and style is eye catching.

P5250030~~Real Japanese for Lunch ~~

It took us awhile to decide where to eat lunch.  After two hours of going from one end to the other in the Kit Kai complex, we become hungry.  I was craving for korean food while Dimple wanted Japanese because she’s crazy with Japanese anime stuff .  I asked her if she knew of any Jap resto in KitKai as she had the time to go out with her another “anime-crazy” bestfriend one time and she told me of this – Rai Rai Ken.  I saw one Korean  restaurant near Gaisano Mall but it was too hot to out – so we both decided that Rai Rai Ken will satisfy our cravings.

P5250044~~This is one of our orders – one that i want go back for~~ :)

She settled for a lunch box serving while i had the beef bowl (beef with fresh egg and fried vege at the side)

After lunch, i told her that we need an hour or more to go leisurely walk around to relax our stomachs.  She was looking for this anime stuff and i was also looking out for stuff with “for sale” signs.  :) I also want to find the exit because i wanna see the view below and also i wanna take some sky shots.

P5250066~~ I love to see these greens in the 2nd floor ~~

P5250070~~ candid shot of the girl while talking to someone on her phone~~

P5250074~~This is a place i promised her that we are going to eat here one day ~~

My girl was in high spirits.  I cooperated with her on the things she wanna do like hopping from one book store to another and an hour before going home, we really need to find the shop where she can buy those black stuff she and her classmates are crazy about (i can’t relate) lol!  She was in good mood but not in the mood for mommy-daughter photos.  But then, she allowed me to take one because  she said, “I was very cooperative and i took time to go around with her. “

And this is the priced shot:

P5250084

Not a great shot i know but i love it because it’s her and me. :)

I am a sucker of sky views so let me share this sky shot taken at the Bulua Terminal.  We passed by there to pick some Dunkin donuts for Cloyd’s neices and nephew:

Am Back!

May

I am back! Sounds like i’ve been away for a week and was never infront of near a pc with internet connection. I was just so engrossed with other stuff especially personal ones that no words will come out of my head to share or describe what’s up over here.

The weekend was fine. Almost uneventful except that my father was admitted in the hospital for high blood late Friday night. So i spent the whole night there. Good thing the next day he was fine so i was able to leave for Cagayan de Oro City to see a friend. I had a good time there, going from one place to another (on foot) which made me a bit familiar of the places. I even accidentally bumped into someone whom i have known since high school. And to make the meeting more memorable, she gave a me a jar of chocolate jam! Thank you so much Jo for your sweetness. It’s great to see ya after all these years.

Sunday afternoon, I was suppose to come back but when I arrived at the terminal, it took sometime for the S5 bus to come. I was not a in a hurry so i did not mind taking the red bus. While waiting for the bus, the sun was still mellowing and i longed to see the sunset. I texted my friend to come and meet somewhere so we could go watch the sunset but he declined because he is still far from the coastal so for sure by the time we reached the sea side, the sun is totally out of the horizon. But before his text came in, I was already on the jeep on my way to Kit Kai for other matters. I ended up ending my transaction at 8:30 just on time for another text to arrive asking if am safely home. Oh well, i was not safely home as in my home but am nearer to another home.

I woke up earlier the next day to catch the 5:30 am bus so that i would not be late for work. I missed the bus at the junction so i took the next bus. I still arrived on time then.

Tuesday, i went to MMA, my alma mater to do some errand and some photos are posted here.

Another unforgetable day in the history of the Philippines.  Why?  Because it’s the day when the people of the Philippines voted for her new president.  I woke up 6 am for the worship and right away took a bath so that i can be at the voting center at exactly 7 am.  I thought there were not yet too people there but i was mistaken.  I was not alone in planning to be at the center early.  When i arrived, there first 20 voters were already inside the voting room plus those who were loitering around waiting for their turn.

It took me sometime to find my precinct so I still went around 2 clusters to find my name until i remember to check out my stub.  I wonder why I didn’t thought of the stub right away.  In the stub was my precinct number.  I jump with glee and at same time showed sympathy to my elementary and high school classmate, Melody, because her name can’t be found.  We went together around the two clusters hoping to find our names.  Anyway, i went pick a priority number and my number was 37.  And that was a bit after 7 am.  I can vote at Cluster 89 and precinct # 0411-A at CAS, MSU-IIT, Iligan City.  Am glad i was registered under the address of Barangay San Miguel or else If I am to go to other schools, the situation might not be as comfy as it was at IIT.

While waiting for my number to be called, i managed to take some photos:

P5100250

I officially belong to this precinct @ # 54.

I remember way back in 2007 that i tried to get registered here in my hometown.  But since i was a registered voter in Beijing, PRC  in 2004, they asked me to some process that will take a long time and made me miss 2007 Election.  Am just so lucky this time when me with my boss and his wife went to register.  There were not much people yet  in the Comelec office and we were registered last year without sweating out.

P5100255

A little past 7, the hallways are not yet filled.  It was okey not until someone was smoking and after awhile the guy threw the half-used cigarette to the sides without killing the light.   The smoke was an irritation.  I was starting to feel hungry but i know i should not leave because the next to be called are the next 20, to which i belong.  The people were patiently waiting although you can hear some grumblings here and there.  Majority still think it’s taking time.   Well, the waiting for your turn is the one that’s taking long.  But once you get your ballot and fill up the spaces, it will not really take 10 minutes of your time.

P5100258

This is how the voting room looks like.  I click this photo from outside the window.  That girl with the id is one of the pollwatchers.

Luckily my father was ahead of me inside the voting room and he can’t clearly see the spaces. I told him he should have carried a magnifying glass with him so that he can vote by himself.  Anyway, he let me do the shading and he just dictate to me who are his candidates.  His list is not complete so i just completed the list according to whom i like to vote.  Poor dad!

Good thing our ballots went in without problem.   Mine was officially # 56 that went inside the ballot box.  # 56 at 9:45 am.   There was one old man whose ballot was rejected by the machine.  I dunno what really caused the rejection but they did try 4 times and still it was not taken in.  Poor old man, he came so early yet his vote was not counted.

Anyway, as of this writing, the persons whom i voted for President and Vice President did not make it.  In my senatorial list of 12 — I think only 6-8 made it.

I feel light headed when i walked out of the area because i was already very hungry.  I was longing for hot chocolate so i thought of Jollibee while taking these photos:

P5100269

There were really many who were trying to check if their names are listed somewhere.  I saw many whose names were not in the list anymore.

P5100270

Good for them they are just sitting pretty the whole day.  They’re cute. Aren’t they?

While i was out that day, i was always praying that it will be a very peaceful election.  During the worship that morning, I reminded the girls not to roam around the city because we were not sure of the peace and order for this unforgetable day.  Good thing no untoward incidents that happened.

Looking up at the sky when i get back to the campus gave me a feeling of peace inside.

P5100273

I was confident that it will be a peaceful election.

I can say that yesterday - May 4, 2010, marked another milestone in the growth of Mindanao Sanitarium and Hospital in its health care services to the people of Iligan City and nearby provinces.  Why?  Because it just inaugurated the following department/services:

  • Plaridel C. Atil Renal Center  (Third Floor, Annex Building)
  • Animal Bite Center (Emergency Roon)
  • Additional Newly Furnished Private Rooms (Third Floor, Annex)
  • Water Tanker/Fire Truck for community service

The affair was attended by presidents of its sister hospitals (Bacolod Adventist Medical Center,  HW Miller Sanitarium and Hospital, Manila Adventist Medical Center, and Gingoog Sanitarium and Hospital).  Actually all presidents were invited but maybe our invitation came in late  so it was already impossible that they can fit it into their schedules.  Several specialists were also around including  Sanofi Personnel (Mindanao Region) made the program more memorable.

The program was held at the 5th floor of the Annex Building  and was formally started by the welcome speech of Dr. Wilper Taylor Generator, the MSH VP for Medical Affairs and was followed by Dr. Edgar Claude A. Nadal , MSH President as he shares of history of the Renal Center and newly built and furnished private rooms.  Two singing groups graced the affair – the Sthenichords and the group from Gingoog Sanitarium and Hospital.   Sir Joel Y. Dalaguan, the former President of the hospital,  and who also just arrived with his wife from their missionary post in Afriday (Kendu Aventist Hospital)  gave the inspirational message.

After the litany and dedicatory prayer, the group went down for the ribbon cutting.  First to the fire struck and collection car, then to the Bite Clinic, then back to the third floor for the Renal Center and private Rooms.  The cutting was headed by Dr. Yvette L. Nadal, assited by Dr. Abel Gomez and Mrs. Elizabeth T. Dalaguan.

After the program, the visitors were ushered back to the 5th floor for a sumptuous lunch.

Personally, i look forward to the affair for days because I was sure i would have a chance to click my camera.  I was hoping though that it would happen on a Sunday so that i can host an entry for Weekend Memoirs.  But even though it was not a weekend affair, i still had a nice time taking pictures. :)

Let me share some:

P5040203

Well, he’s in this photo now. :-)   The last guy to the right.

The morning started so bright but just before noontime, the beautiful rain fell.  It cooled the ground.  And everyone was happy!

99% of the visitors were from distant places.  Some have plane to catch and some have 5 hrs travel to make.  So after lunch, they parted with a smile on their faces.  For those who were on duty, we all went back to our offices – tired but satisfied of the outcome.  Not really perfect i think.  There were still some bloopers but it can be overlooked.

More post related to this event will be posted later.

As much as i want to update daily, i find myself lagging behind of what should be done.  I feel my personal time is not as much anymore when i started blogging and when i decided that i have to maintain 3 domains on top of my normal day job.  Back then i could stay up late at nights to update all blogs but now the situation is not like that anymore.  But even then am trying to catch up as much as i can.

There are times when i have so much to say but I am away from the computer so what i do is jot down the ideas and try to make about them later.  But when i do so, my fingers just rested on the keys and not doing a thing.

There are also times when i really have to crack my head to write something so that i can do the tasks such as reading and commenting about foosball tables which am sure will help many households out there. Doing this kind of jobs at times made me want to shop online because the prices are way better than going out to the shopping mall if you have to add up the hassle that you get when purchasing something.

Shopping is another way to beat stress  but i’ve been there before.  I ended up buying things i really don’t need.  So going back to what am talking about –

Summer months is almost over and i haven’t been away yet.  I feel i need a break – even a short break to rejuvinate my old self. -)  Anyway that’s a longing and i hope it will happen soon.  I really need to get away if i want to improve in my blogging activities.

3 blogs – that was more than a month ago.  Now i have 4 domains to maintain.  Incase you haven’t noticed them, they are:

Joys in Life

Dancing in Midlife Tune

Healthy Lifestyle

All About Her

Oppss to top that, i also have a subdomain on arlenecollado (dot) com  which is the home of my digital scraps and also a photo blog in blogspot. Not forgetting to mention too my old old blog -Life is What we Make it.

Now i really have my hands full!  Should i slow down or just go on with it?  I can’t promise for tomorrow so let me do things one day at a time.

As said, life is what we make it and  I find mine very challenging.

Since we are experiencing the El Nino phenomenon, to have rain is really a blessing.  It fell like like puppies and kitties yesterday but i can see the plants and the grasses smiled.  When it started, the ground gave out that dry land smell which is an annoying to those who are asthmatic but to the farmers and to those who are praying for rain – it was a great smell!

This morning, the sky looks so clear blue and the sun is hot.  I am going up to the dorm later to check out my laundry am sure they are dried right now.  They were dried yesterday but i forgot to pick them out at noon.  I remembered them when the rain made them damp with coldness again.

Here are some photos of the wet ground and smiling plants:

P3310200

this is how the sky looks while it rained

P3310199

I thought of splashing in the pools of water but changed my mind coz i might get sick.  Good thing it did not flood.  But if it rained that much for 2 hours or more for sure the water pools will be so deep.

- I think the flower i smiling. :)

Welcome 2010 and goodbye 2009. For me, 2009 was a good year in spite of all the financial struggles. I know money is not everything but i realized that money is a very important tool to get things normally going. It was not a stress-free year although i am praying for a stress-free 2010. I find stress for a challenge me to tackle things so here are some of my unforgetables of 2009

1. Went back to the gym after almost a year
2. My blood sugar was real high for the first time
3. I was not able to take a leave on my birthday but had a grand time with my office mates. There was so much things to do that day because of the upcoming Anniversary program
4. Dimple officially become a little lady on my birthday
5. Kuya Nonoy’s death
6. Former Phil. President (1st Philippine woman President) died.
7. Michael Jackson died
8. Jun Acut’s death
9. MBS2 at Cagayan de Oro City
10. Victim to theft at Uni Top Mall (Dec 30, 2009)
11. Earned only 1/4 of what i earned from Sponsored REviews last year yet PU2B blessings was constant. :)
12. Managed to regularly update 3 blogs (personal, health, and travel blogs) even it’s an add on to my fix job.
13. We had a new baby boy in the family (March 9)
14. Got my first laptop (December 5)
15. Purchased a Globe Tattoo BB (December)
16. Experienced my first zip line and also river rafting (June)
17. Played badminton for some months with co-workers.
In the coming days, i will have to post a summary of the total number of posts i made in this blog and in all my blogs.

Till later, guys!
