This weekend is one of the unforgetable weekends when it comes to work.   We left the campus Friday morning at exactly 7:30 for Naawan Beach Resort, a merely 20 minute travel northward to Misamis Oriental.  The IFL seminar by Dr. Ian Abordo started at exactly 9:30 and it was very informative.  The two hours pass by so quickly that we have to stop for lunch.   At lunch time, i ate hurriedly because i was thinking i can get online only to discover that Globe signal is not full over there so i failed to read more on how to have quick weight loss diet . It’s different when you can read ideas from experts or even experienced people. Some said i should not read anymore about but i said, i wanna know more.

Saturday was  spiritually refreshing for all of us.  The Sabbath School program was very touching.  The AY was spent listening to a lecture on THE SEASONS OF LIFE by Dr. Araceli Rosario that ended up with a group activity wherein we have to answer 5 questions.  We enjoyed the sharing and our group presented last with a The Buzz style.  QA portion – Ma’am Ruby the interviewer and am the one being interviewed.  It was weird and funny but it was to break the one type of reporting and we discovered that it seems everyone was listening. :)

I have so much to share about the weekend.  And even though my camera was lost i was still able to make great sunset shots Friday afternoon because Lelan brought her camera.  Unfortunately, it didn’t last long because it seems the battery is defective, yet i had made pictures.  I also had some photos from other cameras.  The funny thing when i don’t have a camera is that whenever there are groups or friends taking pictures i also run to join. lol!  I saw a lot of many “picturable” and “bloggable” objects at Naawan Beach Resort this weekend.

Rates info of the beach will be posted here.

This is a very stale post.  Oppss not a post but a late sharing of experience.  I should have done this the day after the outing but there were other things on the top list that writing about the mommy and daughter bonding was put aside.

I should have entitled this post: Lakwatsa sa Kitkai but as other PU2B bloggers know, non-english posts are not allowed in blogs that work for PU2B.

One week ago – May 25, Tuesday, Dimple and I had the chance to go to Cagayan de Oro just for fun.  I took a day’s leave from work just for the reason of going out with her and at the same time sending off my boss and his wife to the airport.  After dropping them off at the airport at 9:30 am, we are all left to ourselves with a vehicle and of course with a driver.

I asked Dimple where she wants to go.  I gave her two places – SM or Kit Kai Complex and she chose the later.  So from 10 am until the time we went home at 3 pm, we were at Kitkai.

Now, i want to let the photos do the talking.  I am just too overwhelmed with something today so i can’t think much on what to blah:

~~our first stop~~
We had breakfast here.

P5250013~~ the girl and our food ~~
She’s not yet in picture mood :)

P5250019~~Our 2nd stop – South Philippine Union Conference ~~
The boss had some transaction inside.

The driver drives so comfortably for the boss wife that it took us 2 hours to travel from Iligan to the center of Cagayan de Oro.  It was a drag but we still had time so the boss did not complain. :)

P5250023~~Ma’am Betty at then entrance of the Hope Channel Building ~~

The boss wife was in the mood for picture taking which i also like, so this is one of her poses.  :)
The signage color and style is eye catching.

P5250030~~Real Japanese for Lunch ~~

It took us awhile to decide where to eat lunch.  After two hours of going from one end to the other in the Kit Kai complex, we become hungry.  I was craving for korean food while Dimple wanted Japanese because she’s crazy with Japanese anime stuff .  I asked her if she knew of any Jap resto in KitKai as she had the time to go out with her another “anime-crazy” bestfriend one time and she told me of this – Rai Rai Ken.  I saw one Korean  restaurant near Gaisano Mall but it was too hot to out – so we both decided that Rai Rai Ken will satisfy our cravings.

P5250044~~This is one of our orders – one that i want go back for~~ :)

She settled for a lunch box serving while i had the beef bowl (beef with fresh egg and fried vege at the side)

After lunch, i told her that we need an hour or more to go leisurely walk around to relax our stomachs.  She was looking for this anime stuff and i was also looking out for stuff with “for sale” signs.  :) I also want to find the exit because i wanna see the view below and also i wanna take some sky shots.

P5250066~~ I love to see these greens in the 2nd floor ~~

P5250070~~ candid shot of the girl while talking to someone on her phone~~

P5250074~~This is a place i promised her that we are going to eat here one day ~~

My girl was in high spirits.  I cooperated with her on the things she wanna do like hopping from one book store to another and an hour before going home, we really need to find the shop where she can buy those black stuff she and her classmates are crazy about (i can’t relate) lol!  She was in good mood but not in the mood for mommy-daughter photos.  But then, she allowed me to take one because  she said, “I was very cooperative and i took time to go around with her. “

And this is the priced shot:

P5250084

Not a great shot i know but i love it because it’s her and me. :)

I am a sucker of sky views so let me share this sky shot taken at the Bulua Terminal.  We passed by there to pick some Dunkin donuts for Cloyd’s neices and nephew:

Am Back!

I am back! Sounds like i’ve been away for a week and was never infront of near a pc with internet connection. I was just so engrossed with other stuff especially personal ones that no words will come out of my head to share or describe what’s up over here.

The weekend was fine. Almost uneventful except that my father was admitted in the hospital for high blood late Friday night. So i spent the whole night there. Good thing the next day he was fine so i was able to leave for Cagayan de Oro City to see a friend. I had a good time there, going from one place to another (on foot) which made me a bit familiar of the places. I even accidentally bumped into someone whom i have known since high school. And to make the meeting more memorable, she gave a me a jar of chocolate jam! Thank you so much Jo for your sweetness. It’s great to see ya after all these years.

Sunday afternoon, I was suppose to come back but when I arrived at the terminal, it took sometime for the S5 bus to come. I was not a in a hurry so i did not mind taking the red bus. While waiting for the bus, the sun was still mellowing and i longed to see the sunset. I texted my friend to come and meet somewhere so we could go watch the sunset but he declined because he is still far from the coastal so for sure by the time we reached the sea side, the sun is totally out of the horizon. But before his text came in, I was already on the jeep on my way to Kit Kai for other matters. I ended up ending my transaction at 8:30 just on time for another text to arrive asking if am safely home. Oh well, i was not safely home as in my home but am nearer to another home.

I woke up earlier the next day to catch the 5:30 am bus so that i would not be late for work. I missed the bus at the junction so i took the next bus. I still arrived on time then.

Tuesday, i went to MMA, my alma mater to do some errand and some photos are posted here.

I wish I am making this post using my laptop because i had a few “self” photos taken the past weekend saved there. But i decided to leave it at home today because i just felt like am carrying too much baggage that i could fall down. =) Am not very much of myself since the other night because of so much thinking. So lemme share this one i took of Monday early morning:

P5170250

I looked puffy.  I have to use the glasses to cover my puffy eyes.  =)  I just had a stressful night.  Good thing i fall asleep after being apologized at.  It is really nice to go to sleep with no more anger in your heart.    It made me remember the passage that says:  “don’t let the sun go down on an anger or disagreement. “

This is my second time to pass by the place but this is my first time to really come near the fountain. It was not a very sunny day that day so on the other side the sky was greyish white and i have to go around the fountain to catch the sky in the northern part.

World Cup Shirts

Posted by: adminin worth knowing in worth knowing

When am reminded of the world cup, I remember my red shirt i bought just weeks after I arrived in China.  That was summer and one day, I wore it to school.  There was a football fever that time because of David Beckham’s’ first visit to the Kingdom.  The boys right away saw the print on my tshirt and said, “teacher, you love football?!”  At that moment, I was not sure what to answer but I can see the excitement in their eyes, so i said, “Yes I love football!”  And they all jumped up and down in glee.  Giving me a thumbs up treating me like i was one of their football buddies.  Thanks to world cup shirts printing, that enabled me to connect with the boys right away and learning english became more fun.

I think that was the only tshirt I bought while there – one with a nice color and correct english.  Their funny tshirts are ubearable thinking that I taught English to students who does not know the language.  They sell so much funny shirts at very affordable prices but what i can’t take are the wrong spelling and grammar.  It would be a slap to my face if i tolerate those mistakes for the sake of fashion. Other teachers also agree with me so we can’t grab the chance of buying fashionable shirts and dresses because of that.  They were just too many to chose from.

Anyway, the workers of MSH and MSH College has been divided into 4 groups again and i got a new color.  I belong to the Blue Color.  Last year i belong to the group of Yellow, the other year was Orange and this year Blue!  Well it’s nice to be with a different group again.  So am sure they are going to shirts printing like the Fifa World Cup.  Actually if I am just financially able, Id love to attend the World Cup in South Africa which is just 52 days away.  Am sure my South African friend in China will be going home for this momentous event.

I watched that movie this afternoon! I am suppose to go swimming with my family and relatives but i have a call for work in the dormitory so there’s nothing to do than watching movies. I got no books that i can read and the cross-stich material am doing is too fine for my eyes…so i just watch the movie. It’s a thrilling movie and i’d like to think am as brave as that woman in the story. :-)

I guess being healthy is very important if one is planning to go on traveling. And it is also a must that a person knows where he is going and what he can expect there. For those friends up there, if you plan to visit Asia or Southeast Asia or South America then take time to read this medical travel guide. I browse through it and i find it informative. I wish it has a guide for a visit to the Philippines. Am glad India is in the list because i have in mind to visit India this year. Check it if the country of your destination is in the list.

Our Weekend Memoirs

I was home hours before Christmas eve.  I thought i would not be home but thanks to the last student who went out last from the dorm – she decided to leave.

No one was home when i arrived.  The first thing i did was clean the kitchen and then my bedroom (my daughter is using it now).  My first reaction was to get mad or upset but i took a deep breath and think that i have to clean it up with a light heart because i want it to do it as a Christmas day treat for my mom (cleaning the kitchen) and for my daughter (cleaning the bedroom).  Since they were out, i had the place and 2 hours time just for myself alone.

After cleaning, i took my place in the living room and started watching  movies.  First is Boys Over Flowers (Korean’s F4) then when it get to the point where the CD got a scratch, i changed it to  The Post Grad.  I missed watching TV and movies because while staying in the dorm, i don’t have the luxury to to that.

We just cooked rice for dinner because my mom had a lot of Ginataan ng Gabi.  It’s like we have an overflowing supply of Gabi (red tubers) so she has to make something so that the tubers will be on use.  I did not eat dinner anymore i felt full of eating a bit of food here and there.  We even have a gallon full Binignit that we failed to eat that Christmas eve because all were full.  Dimple just got out of the house to see the fireworks.  Me? In the living room watching movies until i fall asleep.

Christmas morning arrived and I woke up to a call of help.  My mom got chest pains again! Again because the day before and the day before that, she woke up like that.  Thanks to Isordil 5, the pain subsides right away.  But on the Christmas morning, the supply of pill ran out so i woke up my neice to a pill at the hospital pharmacy.  They took a long time so i woke my daughter up and fetch her cousin.

There is a saying that  goes – “A misfortune to one can be a fortune for others.”  Dimple saw a crumpled 500 pesos bill on the streets while coming home.  She was the one who first saw it and show it to my Aunt (who was following her) and my aunt confirmed it is not a fake money.  So with that money, Dimple and I were able to buy Roasted Chicken. lol!  We had a hearty meal but they have to hurry because they were going to church.  I did not go because i was having headache to see and hear firecrackers while walking on the streets. When they got back from church, they ate again.

The thing with the Christmas day 2009 – my camera has not clicked a single for a single moment. hahaha.  I had it in my bag but was too lazy to do even one click.   But i kept all the memories in my head.

I had a weekend trip to my College Alma Mater (Mountain View College) to see Dimple who is one of the participants of the Northern Mindanao Conference Wide Pathfinder  Camporee.  It was a nice and memorable visit and here are some shots:

I got glimpse of the building (Ruby Hall) where i stayed at throughout all my College years.

FKA at twilight.

It was a very cold morning when we woke up to the “sunrise worship” call.  When i looked up Mt. Kitanglad beyond the roofs, i then understood why it’s so cold.

PC190182

It was almost cloudless.  So it was freezing cold.

Even at 10 AM, when we went back to our cottage to ease ourselves, we saw the mountain and it is not yet very much covered with clouds.  No wonder i can’t remove my long sleeves yet.

PC190220

That’s the magestic Mt. Kitanglad.

A view from under the pines drive (almost at the old guesthouse)

Here’s a shot of Joan and Boggs. Joan was my roommate since highschool until our college days.  So we had fun reminiscing our MVC days.  We were so noisy!  Bogss is her college sweetheart.  They are blessed with one kid – a daughter, Carla, who is in the 6th grade at Del Mar SDA Elementary School.

PC190284

There was also a barangay contest on Christmas lights and decor at the campus. Am lucky enough to pass by the Barangay Uno entrance on a Saturday night.

Saturday night is a social night so every camper was at the Auditorium for socials.  If in the outside world got disco – we have vegetarian dance, too.  And this is what they do:

Here’s Shawn with a girl from another school.  His campmates were really teasing him. :)

PC190312

They are the last group that left the auditorium after the socials.  So here are some of their shots (some are stolen) hehehe

Hmm a long post.  A very long one i guess.  Not really a single Christmas day photo here yet i had enough memories that filled my thoughts for me to enjoy in the coming years.

I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

Am logging off now because we are off to the beach. I still have to make corn pop. :D

If there is one accessible place to have a therapy then i will pick MVC.  Been there this weekend to visit my daughter.  I joined some parents who went up there to visit their kids who attended the NMC-Wide Camporee.  When we arrived, it was very obvious that the kids enjoyed the week although we can’t help to notice that their color changed.  Maybe it was because of the very favorable weather.  They spent Friday in hiking the hills around the campus and all had tales to tell to their parents and worth keeping until they grow old.

PC190221

The place is not a rehabilitation place for people with drug problems but i heard that there are some people who have emotional problems that gets well over there. Maybe it’s because of the solemn environment and very far from the city stresses. A friend even exclaimed that the place is a good place for a drug rehab. I have to give her the look that says “what? u think my school campus got drug addicts?” But in reality, i think so too. So if in the future, there would be buildings that will be sprouting in nearby hills like Kilangi area or even beyond the Mt. Nebo, then maybe they are drug rehab centers.  If that happens then for sure i would recommend the place to friends who have family members or friends who needs rehabilitation.

It’s my first time to visit the campus in the last 5 years that i really enjoyed going around.  Though i was mostly alone going around – yet i had all the time to stop to take photos and close my eyes to think of by gone days.  I stood at the spot where i answered my college sweetheart “yes”! and also remembered the spot where we saw the bird that just died days later under my care. lol!  It died of the cold you know.  It was really cold in that campus which we all love.  The air conditioners are all so natural that you need thick woolens to comfort you to sleep.

Anyway, tonight, it’s going to be my first time to interview my daughter of her unforgetable experiences over there.

Our Weekend Memoirs

If you read the post before this, it is entitled, I WAS THERE.  Yes, I was in Cagayan de Oro City to attend a very big blogger’s event.  I wish all of you were there with me because if you are here at OWM then it means you are also a blogger.  I want to dream big like there will be a WORLD BLOGGERS SUMMIT!  Where to be held? — cast lots!

Let me allow to share a few because next weekend it’s going to be my turn and i will also share MBS related photos.

I made new friends.  But here are some of the new friends that i had pics with. :)

These guys are first timers to the summit.  The upper photos showed with me are bloggers from the Zamboanga Peninsula.  I think two of them are from Zamboanga City and the other one is Dapitan.

The lower to the left is shown Alvin Ronnie Caballero and Francis Javier.  We were on the same table.  Both are new bloggers and they belong to CDO Bloggers.

With me on the right photo is Alvin Tan of Manila.  First time to the summit and first time to Mindanao.  I am sure he really had a great time in this trip.  Such a friendly guy.

The 9 PBA awardees for 2009 in Mindanao.  Everyone was happy for them.
You may check out Avel’s post about his 3 wins.

I had many photos but this is one of my favorite ones: – the chandelier at the meeting hall.

I now decided that i should include in my collection shots of lamps and chandeliers. Oh a couple of shots has been added to my “shooting the photographer” collection. :) i just luvit!
